Zeitbilder
Melchior Imboden travels the world with his camera. While doing so, the camera advances to Imboden’s primary means of perception. The photographic results surpass simple documentation: Imboden turns his gaze towards people and their— oftentimes changing—places in the world. At the same time, the photographer makes use of blurring as a conscious stylistic device in order to reveal deeper levels of meaning. Upon closer examination, the viewer may notice, that these images radiate a sense of social responsibility. Moreover, Imboden’s photographic images are characterized by freedom, curiosity, and tension between notions of proximity and distance. All of Melchior Imboden’s photographs uncannily capture and reflect the world’s timeliness.

Objekte
The series ‚Objekte‘ can be understood as a continuation of the Imboden’s graphic works, which—for their part— are characterized by constructivist and geometrical elements. In other words, Imboden succeeds in generating tangible three-dimensional creations. These ‚objects‘ are primarily composed of wooden elements and capture the viewer due to their differentiating color spectrum. In short, Imboden’s three-dimensional works examine image space and image area.
