The Berlin-born photographer Anna Lehmann-Brauns created her photographic series titled Wildsidewest during a five-month stay in the city of San Francisco. In the series, Lehmann-Brauns primarily concerns herself with key locations of the LGBTQ+ movement, for which the city is widely known for. While doing so, Lehmann-Brauns remains absolutely faithful to her renowned visual imagery. Meaning, the photographer visually examines the concept of „space as a place of subjective and collective memory.“ The mostly deserted interiors reveal a fascinating visual world to the viewer, who—only upon second glance— comes to realize the possible magnitude of the presented subject maaer.
