Chrissy Anglikers career as an artist took form for the first time when she was just thirteen years old. At this time, Angliker’s visual language was shaped by the Russian artist Jury Borodatchev’s mentorship. After her finishing her studies in the United States, Angliker fully commiaed to the visual arts. Today, her works capture the viewer due to Angliker’s characteristically dynamic ductus and due to the stimulating color scheme. Oftentimes, photographs are at the basis of Angliker’s paintings. These images gain new meaning through the act of painting. In this sense, Angliker’s paintings can be interpreted as visual translations. These translations encompass the artist’s position between control and chaos which is brought about in Angliker’s painting process.
